The Wiscasset Yacht Club was founded in 1952. Thanks to the hard work of our founding members and the many members who have followed them, we have a lovely building on the Sheepscot River in Wiscasset Harbor. A family yacht club established for the enjoyment of our beautiful area.

Now that the hustle and bustle of the holidays is behind us and the Pats are on their way to winning the Superbowl (oops! a little editorializing there), it's time to begin thinking about the upcoming boating season which we'll kick off with our Annual Banquet. The banquet will be held at the Kennebec Tavern in Bath on March 24, 2012 -- details and registration form will be included in your membership renewal letter.
Speaking of which, membership renewal forms will be going in the mail around the 15th of this month. Yearly dues remain a very affordable $150.00. We've started 2012 with two new members, and I'm hoping we can achieve 100% renewal from existing members.
Lastly, I received this photo of the boat building class from Harrison Bispham and thought I'd share it with everyone. As you can see, the first dinghy is nearly complete. The class has been well attended and the consensus is that it's a huge success. The boat will be launched sometime this month, and there is talk of perhaps having a small ceremony followed by coffee and donuts -- more to follow on this.
