Clubhouse Relocation & Repairs Update:

The Wiscasset Planning Board approved the WYC relocation proposal on November 23, 2009. A big thank you to David King for the countless hours he has given to this project, for the benefit for all present and future WYC members!

Over 80% of the membership who cast a vote, voted in favor of the present plan to move the clubhouse on to the land during our annual meeting in October! Thank you to those who attended the many informational meetings and presentations, the annual meeting, planning board meetings, and public hearing. Several members were in attendance at the public hearing to speak out in favor of the plan to relocate the building onto the land; none were opposed.

We have not yet met our fundraising goal. Please consider contributing to the Save Our Clubhouse campaign if you have not already done so. If each member made a contribution, we would be in a good position to move forward this Spring. Why not pay your past years of enjoyment of the WYC forward? Thank you to the members who have already donated to the “Save Our Clubhouse” campaign; we are grateful for your generosity! We know that coming up with money to donate is never easy, especially in these tough economic times.

The Wiscasset Yacht Club was founded in 1952. Thanks to the hard work of our founding members and the many members who have followed them, we have a lovely building on the Sheepscot River in Wiscasset Harbor. A family yacht club established for the enjoyment of our beautiful area.
